Company history: From the early 1900's British Aircraft Corporation was a leader in airplanes and jet engines. With the outcome of the industrial revolution they diversified their knowledge in different field of technology. First division was the Bristol Aeroplane Co.Limited. Their worldwide expansion created the Bristol Aeroplane Company of Canada and thus creating a sub-division "Bristol Aero-industries Limited.
To compete with those fields and other competitors they created PM(Power machinery), a chainsaw company that eventually became an independant entity in the late sixties.
Power Machinery Ltd. designed also the model 340 . It was 4.2 cu. in. (68.8cc) The SKIL version was introduced in 1969 right after SKIL Tool Co. bought out the chain saw division of Bristol Aero-Industries Limited (PM) in Vancouver (1967).

History from Mike Acre's site(CSCC).
In 1967 Peter G. Dueck became president of PM after the sale of the company to a group of investors by Bristol Aero-Industries Ltd. Mr. Dueck was President of Dueck Building Supplies Ltd. At the time A.F.B. Milligan was Vice-President and General Manager. J.C. Stainsby was Chief Engineer, H.J. Hutchinson was Marketing Manager and R.J.B. Molson was Manufacturing Manager.

Currently our chainsaw master Mike Acres from Vancouver purchased and owns the PM Company rights but it is not in production.
