IEL DC SUPER PIONEER POWERHEAD/DIAMOND DRILL ATTACHMENT..

A rare "PACKSAC" Chainsaw power drill attachment used by prospectors in the 50's.
Unit is used in core sample drilling when doing "claims" geology studies.

Water used in a barrel is fed through the head and inside the diamond bit to help cooling of the diamond cutters. If the samples showed significant value, a team would set up camp in winter due to easier access on frozen ground and investigate their discovery.
Some "core samples" can be seen on the last picture inside box.
Still used today, modern units showing with portable accessories.
