MERCURY KIEKHAEFER/DISSTON DA 211.

Saw history:
Coming from my husband's grandfather he was emotionally attached and is very happy it is going to your museum.
This saw belonged to Ralph Leibensperger of Columbus, Ohio. Ralph was a general contractor and used the saw in some of his projects. Upon his death in 1983 it was given to his grandson Bill Heizer, of Columbus, Ohio whom at that time heated his home with wood. Bill and his family moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio. He had the ignition rebuilt and started it a few time but had no use for such a LARGE saw. Subsequently it was sold to the chainsaw museum in Quebec, Canada. Bill was very happy to have the museum purchase the saw because he knew it would be appreciated for its history and as a piece of well-built machinery with a practical value. Thanks, Luann.
